What can ordinary people do to help in the fight against crime?

People often blame police and authorities because they don't do "anything" against crime, in which the most affected are just ordinary people; but, think it or not, we can do lots of things to fight against crime because we can't let criminals do whatever they want. We need to feel safe ourselves by no putting in risk our integrity, don't walk in dangerous streets or in footbridges where you know you can be stolen by criminals. You can also buy (if you can) things to protect yourselves, such as change the lock, buy electric shock tools in case of self defense, buy a dog and train it with special abilities, buy panic bottoms, pepper sprays, or in special cases, you can by a gun, but it's not recommendable because of the bad use people can give it. Another healthier solution is to learn physical self defense, like kung fu, karate, tae kwon do, etc. Some useful pieces of advice is to keep your personal information safe from unknown people, be always aware of people you don't know, which it doesn't mean you have to be paranoid all the time, just be careful.

As you can see, there are so many ways to help avoid and fight against crime, don't leave the solutions to authorities if you can do something about it, you can protect yourself, as we all know, not everything is for free, but, will you keep waiting for something to happen you and your family? What do you expect? While people in charge don’t care about us we need to deal in the best ways this issue, what are waiting for?

It should be illegal for parent to hit their childrenii

A punch, hitting, a kick, a slap... What can this physical punishments could cause in a child of two, five, thirteen, or sixteen years old? Do these physical punishments teach something to them? What do you think they could learn with all of this? Respect or fear?
Is true, some parents lose their minds and don't think what they are doing, some of them are just mad and they can't control themselves, some of them were hardly punished by their own parents and they think that's the only way to solution their children's behaviors problems, some of those parents think that sometimes is necessary a little slap to control their kids, and despite I think physiological violence is worse than physical, is not a subject we must ignore at all.
If we think of ways of teaching in 50' to 90' is all conductive, and every time the student didn’t do what the teacher wanted, the student had to pay consequences, that's why I think our parents and their parents don't understand and can't get other ways to express anger or control their kids, and for worse, they are not able to dimensionate the damage their are doing do their child or what could the kid be into, such things as drugs or alcohol to "get away" from their houses.
I strongly believe that it should be illegal for parent to hit their children, because now there are new ways to teach and for let anger escape from ourselves, there is breathing exercises, communication, professional help, etc.
We don't want to see anymore cases like the man who almost kill her baby of almost a week of life, because he wanted to have a boy, not a girl. That are the kinds of things that proves us there are not qualified people to have children, so parents can control themselves or think two times what they are doing before they think if they want to have a baby.

Two weeks at camp California!

Thank you very much because of this opportunity you are giving me, I feel so lucky right now to show my talents and win for them.
According to the information you need, I can communicate you that I can only travel in July, because I need some more time to recover my breath since the last competition, as you may know, was not very easy. My leg is not very good and I prefer to get rest.
About the accommodation, I prefer log cabins rather than tents, because log cabins are more comfortable than tents and I'm kind of scared of bugs and I wouldn't like it a bee or a mosquito in my ear at night; besides I don't want a back pain in the mornings.
In my opinion, despite I love swimming and painting, I prefer to do the kinds of activities which could allow me to discover a talent in me, such as sailing and photography, although I think I got so much things to give in those areas, because I love to take photographs, and not just to friends or myself as everybody does, but take pictures of places and people I have never seen, or the orange sky in spring on the afternoons, or waves crushing against a big rock, I don't know, some thing like that, I don't know how "good" am I for this activity, but I really like it. On the other hand, I have always wanted to sail because there is no other thing I live more than sea... I recognize I don't know anything about sailing, but I learn fast and I can try hardly to learn everything I need, because is very interested for me make new stuff.
There is some things I want to know, for example, What about clothes? What kind of clothes I can go with because of the weather conditions on July and I want to know is someone will be waiting for me at the airport. Besides I want to know if meals run on you or I have to pay them, that is very important to me.

Cuasimodo festivity

Dear Sunny,
How you doing? I hope you're doing great in New York! We all miss you here, and because as you know Easter was a very special time, is a pitty you had to go so fast, you missed Cuasimodo festivity... It was two days after you left, the Sunday after Easter and it's only celebrated here in central valley of Chile and it's organized by the peasant in here. It’s a day in which “cuasimodistas” expect anxiously, because they have a chance to demonstrate their grandeur faith to everybody by preparing the spurs, making the decoration of their horses, bikes and even vans with months in advanced. They also make garlands and signs to announce the arriving of Christ, so and then they make the communion to sick and old people, it would be very important to you because I know you're Catholic and you like to help people.
As you know, nothing in Chile is made by our own imagination and creativity, and this is not the exception. Because of the Council of Trento celebrated by the Catholic Church in Spain , it was established the convenience of taking communion at least once a year. According to this rule, which was spread out in America, it was common for priests to take the communion to sick people who couldn’t assist to the church. And because the priest and his delegation needed protection along their trip in rural paths, where a bandit could stole them, so after years of the same habit, community get into the tradition and also they had to remember the resurrection of Christ, the real miracle of Christian faith, so now men, women, kids and young people run on their horses or bikes next to the carriage of the priest, wearing white headscarves and yellow capes, in honor to the papal emblem. Now entire families, neighbors and group of friends make clubs to be part of this festival you have missed.
I have never had someone to go with, so I hope next year you'll be my partner to go, because I think you would like it just like just like me...

Something you would never imagine

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him on the window. It was the same face that I saw when I was just a child, I would recognize it everywhere.
I was so shocking for me, because I only thought about him in my dreams, I even got to know he didn't exist. He hadn't changed at all, Nosferatu was a tall creature with a very white skin, green eyes, which are gentile and angry at the same time. He was like 17 years old
When I first saw him, he scared me in the middle of the night and made me relax because I was very frightened of him with his white and long eyeteeth and his red eyes because of the thirst, after he saw me, he just couln't hurt me.
I remember we talked all night long about us, it was kind of weird, because after a while, I felt used to him. Think about it! A girl of six years old talking with a thisty vampire of seventeen years old!

The best way to travel in Santiago

As you can see in the picture, the subway moves around all over Santiago, from west to east. Although there are other alternatives to think, like buses or cars, is the best way to travel because of the benefits it gives you. For example, there are different kinds of fares, although in rush hours is more expensive, there is a "off-peak" hours, where you can save some money paying a low price.
On the other hand, the subway doesn't contaminate like buses or cars, is cleaner than the subway in other countries and every station has his own art, like "Bustamante" station for example.
Additionally, the subway has a lot of entertaining stuff and workshops, as the development of culture and information of any kind (as painting, history, dance, theatre, music, sculpture, astrology, etc) and besides, it has its own library for all kind of people.
At the moment, the subway is the faster way to travel and you can tranfer with buses so you can save one or two tickets.
So, as you can see, there are lots of ways to transport around Santiago, but, which one would you prefer?

Countryside ... What about it?

We have always lived in the city and I'm not very glad about it, because every time I got the chance to travel to the countryside I see all I have missed, although not everything is perfect in there, has lots of things I think city should feel jealousy about. Both have great things and not so good things, but this time, I'm gonna focus in countryside and what's important to know about what's the importance of being there and what is not good for you to be there.

Firstly, is important to talk about he advantages of living far away from the city and eradicate in a small town. The people is nice, is kind with you, they salutes you with a smile without even know you, so as they open the door of their houses to chare their food and the worm of home. Because sometimes they are small towns, all people know each other and they don't covet someone else's properties, so you can see bicycles leaved lying around without fear of stealing, that's why at night they don't lock the door. You can feel safe about everyone.
So as well, the view is beautiful, there is nothing better than go to a mountain and the town from there and see the color degradation of green trees and blue sky. If you want to change airs and run away from pollution the countryside is the fist option everybody should take. And if you want to add something extra, all professional careers are well paid because of the high demand, for example, if you want to go and work as a teacher or architect or even a police official you can earn three times more than in the city, so it’s a option to think.
But nothing is perfect; the transportation is not very frequent so you have to plan according to their schedules to go somewhere. And because of the high demand I was telling you before, there are few products in the market, so the prices are to much expensive, I mean the prices of basic products, like flour, bread and milk.
The worst thing of all, is that basic contains aren’t that high like as in the city. You may not really have what you need to take an exam properly.

You need to make a contrast between the city and the countryside and decide what you prefer, although easily you can live in the city and travel to countryside in vacations, but is up to you, I wouldn’t change the facilities of my dear city, but I love countryside! What do you prefer?

An awful shopping excursion

Dear Sir or Madam

This letter is to express my complain about your awful service of Shopping trip, I did not receive the service that your anouncement promised so I want the refund.
First of all, the hipermarket was full of people and we had to do long queues when we had to pay, besides we were only one hour in Boulogne and not the entire afternoon as your advertisement said. And the worst of all, is that when we were going to eat, it was all closed, so we ate junk food.

To make matters worse, you promised us comfort on your air-conditioned coach and it was not working, the heat was stifling and there was not ever water with ice to calm the heat in that small coach. Finally, we get home at 11.30 p.m when everybody was waiting for me to haver dinner with them at 09.00, but as you know, the coach took three hours to arrive.

I would like to meet the manager of your company to make them know how his company works and make something about it, because the service you give is disappointing. I hope you will give the importance that this matter deservesso, and in consequence, I would like to have my money back, otherwise, I am forced to go to SERNAC and talk whoever I need. .

I do, it could be between lovers and friends, I have to admit I didn't thought that way until I met mine.
I was at school at that time, I was 16 years old and I remember I was at English class and I saw a classmate crying in the last chair of the classroom. Because I think I can always do something to help everybody, I felt the need to help her, so I went to talk to her. She told me she felt bad because of a lot of stuff, like her mother and boyfriend; you know, I felt like she was telling my story and I felt totally identified with her, and I had never spoken to her more than a phrase.
That's how I met Tamara, one of my best friends in the world.
We understand each other perfectly and I really like the complicity we have.
She's unique, kind of crazy; She's very charismatic and she's very funny and we can talk about everything.
I always remember that time in the class, when everything started, it was a coincidence to be there, because just that day my friend wasn't there and her friend wasn't either.
Althought we don't talk like we used to, I always remeber of her and try get in touch.
I really think she's my soulmate.

Ramses IV

I was really excited, I mean, noone travels to Egypt at this time of world economic crisis. I was luckily invited by a friend who has a lot of money because of the company she has.
I've always wanted to study Egyptology, since I was a little child I dramed with Horus, Osiris and Tutankamon Pharaoh who has mystic leyends and curses.
When we arrived, the turistic guide was waiting for us in those pretty touristic buses, but the Egipcian people weren't very friendly in there andt the heating was awful, but bearable. Afterwards, we arrived near to the famous pyramids. While the man was talking, we managed to slip away into the crowd... I had never seen anything more amazing! the inside was great. We had only been walking in there for some 20 minutes when we heard a noise inside a tumb, we were so scared that we ran out, but a man stopped us and told us the story of that old Pharao Ramses IV who was a tyrant with his people and just wanted to get out of his toumb to take revenge of his dead.
As soon as we heard that, we went to look for the tour guide (who was really hard to find) and asked if the story was true, when he confirm it, we were really scared.
We didn't give a step closer from that thing, because the fright was intense.
We of course enjoy and travel arround all the wonders of Egypt, but we didn't get to close to that pyramid again...

Development

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

The movie is called "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and the plot it's quite dificult to undestand, even when you see it. It's a romatic comedy.

It's about Joel, a lonely man who impulsively decides to begin a train trip to a unknown station. There, he meets Clementine, an impulsive woman.
But everything that this film presents as obvious, it really has an unexpected undercurrent and you can realize every second that they know each other in another time.
Actually, after a long relationship and so many differences, Clementine had decided to broke up with him and visit a Doctor to erase her memory and memories about Joel.
When he finds out that Clementine doesn't recognize him, he decides to give himself in to a brain wash too.
During that process, Joel regrets of his decision and decides to escape with Clementine inside their youngest memories so he can not forget her.
In the cast there are Jim Carrey as Joel and Kate Winslet as Clementine, as main Characters.

This movie has especial effects but as an ilusion more than make a big creation.
It's soundrack (the main song) is from Beck and it's call "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometimes"
It's really mixed up and maybe you will have to see it twice... but it's really worth it. I think that the best of this movie is esch person can learn something from differents points of view, from life, from love, from human relationships, etc.

I'm, sure we're gonna spend a great time together. Well, about the transport, it's very easy to get here, but the problem is that it's a little expensive though and a very long way to get here. Let's see. First of all, you have to take a expensive bus from the airport to "Los Heroes" street. There is a subway station there, you have to catch it and go until "Estacion Central" (Central Station)and find the Terminus "San Borja". It's very easy to get there because there are signs all over the place, so you won't loose there.
When you get there, catch the bus that says "Vicuña". It's brown and the bus drivers are not very friendly, but that's the only option we have.
You have to ask the bus driver where is "El manzano" and he will tell you. You can call me when you're near so I can pick up to you to the bus stop and I'll meet you there. So, as you can see, it's a long long way to get here, so, prepare yourself.
Now, but about the wether?... It's fall here, so bring lot's of big jackets and pants, it's not freezing, but the sun isn't appearing anymore nad the wind is starting to blowing strong.
Now we are ready, let me know the exact date you will come to prepare mayself.

How you doing! I'm marvellous... Thanks so much for the letter, I was really hoping it, I'm so glad your fine and happy, and you'll get used to milking the cow early, I would love to help you.
I'm sitting really good in my new house, it isn't big, but is woody and I love it. I'm trying to used to get up early as you, but it's hard. I always have a breakfast of milk and fresh fruit in the morning and I learn to make delicious cakes, I could make you some of it if you like. I also try run half hour as minimum everyday, it makes me feel really good.
I will be there at the end of semester, that's for sure, I'm really excited about cows and sheeps and the new puppies of Lady, and helping you take care of them, you nedd to take a break.
Well, that's all for today, I need to go to supermarket, I unfortunatelly don't have hens to get some eggs.
